In the past few weeks I was able to pop the question to all 5 of my bridesmaids in person which I was super happy about since they live all over British Columbia. I was so excited to finally be able to ask them but I just couldn’t decide how I wanted to do it. I wanted to do something unique, that didn’t cost a lot of money, yet was something personal that they would love. I spent hours on Pinterest searching bridesmaid proposals but just couldn’t find something perfect. Then the other day my mom came home from Art Knapp with a succulent for me. She said it was the perfect soft green colour that I wanted to incorporate into my wedding, so she had to get it for me since it was only $2.99. Thats when I decided what I was going to do for my girls!
I went to the dollar store and bought six terracotta pots which were $1.25 for a package of 2, two bottles of acrylic paint and then to Art Knapp to buy 5 succulents. I painted each pot a mix of the two paints to try and make a blush pink, however it didn’t turn out the right colour but I was in a time crunch since I was heading down south for my grad where I would be asking two of my bridesmaids who live in the lower mainland. Then I used my embossing pen and powder to write on the pots in shiny gold. You could use a gold permanent marker instead of the embossing powder, just make sure the pen isn’t washable! I was really happy with how they turned out! I found these adorable Yay! gift bags at Winners that would fit the pots perfectly. I then made up some quick cards with scrapbook paper for each girl that fit into the envelopes I had bought. In total I spent less than $40 to make these for my 5 bridesmaids.
